That Day

lyrics by Marit Larsen

I’m pacing the streets
Where our story begins
On a pale autumn day
It was a day much like this
I’m back at the corner
Where you used to wait for me
Down by the place where we
Made our first memories

We smiled at each other
Your skin was so cold
And I swore I had never seen you more beautiful
A few stolen glances
We stayed out in the rain
Could we just go back there again

To that day, that day
When I came to see
It was our time, our beginning
The end of the wait
Oh I wish I could go back to where
I was heading on
That day

I can’t help but wonder
Every now and then
If I hadn’t spoken
Would we have kept going
Your number is still here
On my fingertips
Like a forbidden secret
That shouldn’t exist

I know that I loved you
I know that I tried
But the kind that will keep you awake in the night
It just doesn’t make sense
And time after time I was trying to get back there again

One Disturbing Night

Being sour. That’s when you do not trust me, even for the slightest moment. Where has the so-called mutual trust we used to talk often gone to?

Being sad. That’s when you leave me a feeling of being rejected. I assume the friendship we’ve been into by far will soon see a finish line.

Being stupid. That’s when I expect something better in return for doing a favor to someone else. All I get is utterly a disappointment and shame.

Being happy. That’s when I'm free to chose what kind of people I want to be. Doesn’t matter if I should go black, gray, or blue.

Being grateful. That’s when I start to realize I’ve got tons to be thankful for since the beginning of my life. Knowing that I’ve always been granted with a feeling of being sufficient in anything.

The Blinded

You betrayed me
You hurt me
You spread the bad words behind my back
You left my heart unhealed,wounded
You’ve taken advantage of me
You’ve taken me for granted
You’ve treated me like a grain of weightless dust you can vacuum easily
You’ve treated me like a dog
You drive me out
You just dumped me now
You’re heartless bitches
I’m the docile
I’m the observer with sealed lips
I’ve been armed with lots of patience
I’m the blinded
I’ve suffered much from losing my pride, dignity
I’ve learned enough
I’ve seen a lot
I've fed my soul with determination to rise and fight back
I’m having a down and carry it around
I sow, watch, wait, and reap
I only fight for what’s worth-fighting, there’s nothing else.

ONLY DEAD FISHES GOING WITH THE FLOW

Wrote my friend on her Blackberry Messenger’s tagline. For some mysterious reasons that saying went straight to my heart as it was heavent-sent. We’ve heard enough another most-repeatedly cited saying eg “let it flow” that comes with a vague message. The message that encourages us to diminish our survival power, the message that counsels us to stop believing in both our inner voice and strength. But now the time has arrived for us to break down the myth spread by this untrue saying by embracing the new one I wrote as the title of this posting. IMHO it comes as a perfect replacement for the former as it carries a simple yet profound message eg that life always calls for those who struggle, fight for and strive for the best. Now’s our time to realize that we own the rights to direct our destiny and to choose the lifepath we’ll be living with. We’re unstoppable.

Words of Wisdom

I am a traveler seeking the truth, a human searching for the meaning of
humanity, and a citizen seeking dignity, freedom, stability and welfare under
the shade of Islam. I am a free man who is aware of the purpose of his existence
and calls, truly, my prayer and my sacrifice, my life and my death, are all for
Allah, the Cherisher of the worlds; He has no partner. This I am commanded and I
am among those who submit to His Will. This is who I am. Who are you?

THE DIARY OF LOVE

Your days of being lonely are now over
You’ve finally found the one to fill the empty corner of your heart
You don’t have to tell me for your eyes do
Love comes like a big surprise, like a birthday present
It’s like sort of ticket, the reason you’ve been standing long in the line waiting for your turn
Impossible to decline, yet so simple as it gets
When you’re ready and just let it in

His gaze is full of love, so is yours
One can simply sense it
Along the way across the sea
He holds your hand tight, his hand is in your face, his fingers through your hair
And you love the way he treats you, the way he adores you
Love is a destiny, all you have to do is being ready

Then love goes, it feels like a knock without somebody at your door
Love flies leaving the hurt that prevails, like a cavity upon your teeth
Mysteriously you still manage to keep it long enough til you find the courage to let go

But the pain of love flies even much more slowly than the time does,
Curved neatly within the memory as you wish to retain it
You continue to seek the remedy til the summer comes bringing a lot of love along
And you’re now ready to sing a brand new song

TERRA INCOGNITA

Late at night I find it hard to close these eyes
I'm somewhat preoccupied by
Where this life is going to take me
Where in the world this road I take ends
Terra Incognita

Nobody's land that stretches vast before my eyes
that should get named someday by
me who keeps on dreaming about it
me who keeps on fighting for it
Terra Incognita

I'm coming for you
I'm just on my way to you
It's not as easy as it seems
But, I'm coming for you
My terra incognita
